Superintendent Bio

Michael Lee

 

Michael Lee is originally from Abbeville, Alabama, where he graduated from high school and joined the military.  He was first exposed to Alaskan life as a 91B Medic stationed at Fort Richardson, AK, with the 172nd Support Battalion.  Michael Lee later transitioned from 91B to 91R (Food Inspector), working at Norfolk Naval Base and Vet Laboratory Europe as NCOIC of the Food Analysis Division in Landstuhl, Germany.  After the military, Michael Lee went into education and taught in Mississippi and Georgia before returning to Alaska to teach in 2010.  Michael Lee transitioned from teaching to administration and has served as Assistant Principal and Principal since 2012.  Michael Lee served as the principal of Delta High School from 2020 - 2024,  where he focused on ensuring that students are prepared for the future.  Every student needs to be ready to Employ, Enroll, or Enlist upon completion of High School.  Michael Lee is currently the Superintendent of Delta Greely School District and looks forward to continuing to work with the families and community in Delta Junction.  

 

Michael Lee is married to Delorie Lee, who just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, and lives with his wife and two children in Delta Junction.

 

Michael Lee has earned his Bachelor’s of Biology and teaching certification from Mississippi University (MUW).  Michael Lee earned his Master’s of Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska Anchorage and his superintendent’s endorsement from the University of Alaska Southeast.  As a lifelong learner, Michael Lee always works to improve himself through self-study and additional coursework that applies to educational leadership and business management.
